The Sensex ended up 59.93 points or 0.2 percent at 23709.15 and the Nifty was up 19 points or 0.3 percent at 7210.75. About 1298 shares have advanced, 1200 shares declined, and 148 shares are unchanged. SBI, Hero, Bajaj Auto, NTPC and Bharti Airtel were top gainers while Maruti, BHEL, Coal India, Axis Bank and Dr Reddy's were losers in the Sensex.
