Sensex, Nifty open in red; SBI, BHEL, Tata Steel major laggards -- 17 Feb 2016

Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, GAIL, NTPC and Infosys are top gainers while SBI, BHEL, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel are losers in the Sensex.


                                     
The market has once again opened in red. The Sensex is down 55.43 points or 0.2 percent at 23136.54 and the Nifty slips 15.85 points or 0.2 percent at 7032.40. About 280 shares have advanced, 348 shares declined, and 46 shares are unchanged. Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, GAIL, NTPC and Infosys are top gainers while SBI, BHEL, Hindalco, Bharti Airtel and Tata Steel are losers in the Sensex.

The 30-share index was trading at 23,146, down 50 points or 0.20 per cent. It touched a high of 23,241.88 and a low of 23,103.43 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 7034 down 14 points or 0.20 per cent. It touched a high of 7,059.75 and a low of 7019.40 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.84 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.48 per cent lower. 

Dr Reddy's Laboratories (up 1.6 per cent), Sun Pharma (up 1.1 per cent), InfosysBSE 0.79 % (up 1.1 per cent), Maruti Suzuki (up 0.57 per cent), and NTPC (up 1.1 per cent), were the major Sensex gainers. 

Bharti AirtelBSE -1.29 % (down 2 per cent), Tata Steel (down 1.8 per cent), SBI (down 1.7 per cent), and BHEL (down 1.7 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.
