Sensex, Nifty open in red; BHEL & Hindalco fall, Jet jumps 3% -- 19 Feb 2016

The market has opened lower once again. The Sensex is down 57.93 points or 0.2 percent at 23591.29 and the Nifty is down 39.30 points or 0.5 percent at 7152.45. About 211 shares have advanced, 286 shares declined, and 24 shares are unchanged. Bajaj Auto, Wipro and Reliance are top gainers while BHEL, Hindalco, L&T, Tata Steel and HDFC are losers in the Sensex. Jet Airways is up 3 percent.


                                           
The 30-share index was trading at 23,563, down 85 points or 0.36 per cent. It touched a high of 23,640.32 and a low of 23,508.36 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 7169 down 23 points or 0.30 per cent. It touched a high of 7,175.25 and a low of 7,145.95 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.40 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.16 per cent lower. 

Wipro (up 0.78 per cent), RIL (up 0.6 per cent), Bajaj Auto .. (up 0.37 per cent), Infosys (up 0.12 per cent), and TCS (up 0.07 per cent), were the major Sensex gainers. 

BHEL (down 3 per cent), Axis Bank (down 1.4 per cent), Coal India (down 1.3 per cent), and Maruti Suzuki (down 1.3 per cent) were the major Sensex gainers.
