Sensex, Nifty rebound; Lupin, M&M, Bharti Airtel lead gainers -- 6 April 2016

The market rebounded on Wednesday after yesterday's sharp sell-off. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 106.85 points to 24990.44 and the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 34.85 points to 7638.05. 

ICICI Bank, Tata Motors, Lupin, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Auto, Hero Motocorp, BHEL and Hindalco Industries gained 1-2 percent while Wipro, HDFC, Cipla and NTPC were losers. 

                                               
The Indian rupee marginally bounced back in early trade Wednesday after a steep fall in previous session. The currency has opened at 66.42 a dollar, up 4 paise compared to 66.46 a dollar on Tuesday.


The 30-share index was trading at 24,950, up 47 points or 0.21 per cent. It touched a high of 25,000.65 and a low of 24,923.37 in morning trade. 

The Nifty50 was trading at 7,611 up 11 point or 0.12 per cent. It touched a high of 7,638.65 and a low of 7,615.10 in the first 30 minutes of trade. 

BHEL (up 2.3 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.2 per cent), Lupin (up 1.2 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.2 per cent), and Bajaj Auto (up 1.2 per cent), were the major Sensex gainers. 

Wipro (down 0.81 per cent), Cipla (down 0.78 per cent), NTPC (down 0.3 per cent), HDFC (down 0.08 per cent) were the major Sensex losers.
